International Wedding | Milos + Nicola | Smederevo | Serbia | Europe
My first international wedding, and I must tell you... everything felt like a dream to me! From the first initial inquiry I had from Nicola, a classical beauty from Sunny South-Africa, until we set foot on the plain back home to Cape Town from Instanbul, Turkey... It only then really sinked in that we flew more than 13 000 kms to document a wedding!!
Milos and Nicola met when both of them worked on the cruise liner ships as photographers, Milos being from Smederevo, Serbia and Nicola from Paarl, South Africa... worlds apart came together on their very special 1400's century Fortress wedding in Serbia.
It is the first wedding ever documented at this historical site. Nestled in the quaint little town of Smederevo in the Countryside of Belgrade, overlooking the Danube river, longest river in the whole of Europe.
The vibe was enchanting, the people so happy and friendly and everybody couldn't wait to congratulate these two amazing people on their very big and special day!
We really had the most memorable time, exploring and touring this beautiful Balkan country and met the most amazing people along the way. Not only did Milos and Nicola make my dream come true to photograph a wedding away from African soil, but they also sparked something in Dietmar to ask MY hand in marriage after 11 long years of dating! and ofcorse I said YES!!!! (pictures of our holiday and engagement coming soon in a personal post)
I want to say THANK YOU for giving me this massive opportunity! I will cherish this experience forever x
